Eva Melvina Thornley Parkinson, 81, died July 16, 1995, in Logan. She was born 16 July 1914, in Smithfield, to Nathan James and Martha Melvina Weeks Thornley. She married Charles Floyd Parkinson 12 September 1931 in
Farmington, Utah. Eva and Floyd lived in Smithfield most of their married lives, while Eva raised her family and helped support Floyd in his barber business.
In 1974, she and Floyd retired and moved to Lompoc, California. Later they moved to Saint George where they resided until 1993.
Eva was a member of the LDS Church. She was a lifetime visiting teacher and also taught primary. She enjoyed quilt-making and needlework.
She is survived by five children, two sons and three daughters, Clayton (Sharon) Floyd Parkinson, MD, Sharron (David) Monk both of Ogden, Trena (Robert) Woods of Reno, Nevada, Nathan William Parkinson of Salt Lake City,
Domani (Guy) Jardine of Farmington; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren;
one brother, Glen Thornley; and one sister Fay Jenson both of Smithfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, 20 July 1995, at Smithfield Cemetery, with Bishop Charles Godderidge conducting. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday 19 July 1995 at Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan.
